Well we are going to give blogging a shot as a way to stay in touch with family and friends. Anthony started Kindergarten this year and he loves it! He is always excited to tell me about his day and all the activities that they enjoyed that day. He is learning how to read and is able to read some parts of his books on his own. He gets excited when he can read a sentence or a page by himself. It is the end of the first weeks at school and Anthony was the boy chosen in his class to get the good citizenship award. He got a certificate along with a medal. He was pretty excited about his award. He was also chosen as the student of the day. That was pretty exciting day when he came home with his award. He enjoyed having the principle read about him during the days announcements and having his picture taken. He wore his ribbon the whole day.
Madeline is enrolled in a special preschool program for children with disabilities. It is offered by the public school here. She enjoys going to school each day and playing with her teachers. Right now there is only one other kid in her class and his name happens to be Anthony. When they were telling her that there was going to be a new kid in the class and that his name was Anthony, Madeline pipped in with Oh I love Anthony. It took the teachers a minute to realize that her brother must be named Anthony. Everyday when I pick her up from school she chatters all the way home about all the things that she was able to do that day. They sing songs at her school and it is so cute to be in the car listening to her sing all her knew songs at the top of her lungs. She even sings songs a long with Anthony, it just puts a smile on your face. Madeline too got the citizenship award for the first six weeks. She goes to a different school so they did their award a little different. They had me fill out a poster about Madeline and they hang it up on the wall with her picture. They also had a special breakfast for all the students that received the award. They gave her a certificate along with a medal and read a discription the teacher wrote of Madeline using the letters of her name. I don't think Madeline understood what the award was for but she sure enjoyed the doughnuts.
Spencer is now five months old. He now weighs as much as Madeline which happens to be 20 pounds. He loves to smile and has just recently discovered his feet and his tongue. He loves sticking his tongue out and playing with it. He also loves grabbing his feet and trying to put them in his mouth. He ususally ends up rolling around. He is an easy baby to take care of which is good considering he is the third one and at times it takes me awhile to get to him. Thank goodness he has patience.
Well for me I am just staying busy keeping up with Anthony, Madeline, and Spencer's lives. I am enjoying each day with them as they discover things for the first time. Madeline's health has been doing really well. She has developed so much. She is able to keep up with her brother and is finding ways to reach things that are too tall for her. She really has become independent. She is a determined little girl and once she sets her mind to something there is no changing it. The only thing that Madeline has going on is her back surgeries that are every six months. Madeline will have to do this until she is pretty much stopped growing. So we are pretty much committed to her back doctor, thank goodness he is really good doctor and we like him.
Well I think that is all for now.
Sandra
