Grant was able to take Anthony to his first Scout Camporee. It was put on by the Longhorn Council and was held at the Texas Motor Speedway. They were able to camp on the Speedway as well as watch some of the actual race cars drive around the track. They spent all day Saturday participating in different activities as well as fighting the wind. Apparently the wind was pretty relentless and made for an interesting night of camping when your dad forgot the stakes to the tent. I think after fighting the wind for the day Anthony was worn out and the thrill of going to a Camporee was lost. Lucky for him they only put this on every four years, so when it comes around again hopefully he would have forgotten about the wind and how hard it was to fight it, and will want to go to it again and experience the fun with lots of other scouts. Spencer will get to go the next time it rolls around, that should be pretty interesting-at least for Grant.
