The kids woke up shortly after 7:00 and immediately started playing with Santa's gifts. Grandma and Grandpa were still asleep out in the motor home and so as painful as it was the kids waited patiently for Grandma and Grandpa to wake up. After playing with their toys from Santa for a couple of hours it was time to finally play with the gifts under the tree. Now remember their Christmas gifts weren't wrapped and so they sat there staring at the gifts just waiting until they could pick them up and play with them. Now Spencer was content with what Santa brought and was not interested in what was under the tree. So for at least a couple of his gifts he would ignore us as we try to get his attention, and then after a bit he came around and realized that there were more toys. However, he got ahold of one of his gifts and was content the rest of the morning. I am sure someday he will understand the whole Christmas morning fun. The kids enjoyed their gifts and Mommy and Daddy had fun putting together and trying to get the endless amount of toys out of their carefully packaged boxes. Later that evening my family came over for more gift exchanges and Christmas dinner. I love when Christmas Day is simple, it helps to keep the spirit of Christmas a live in our hearts and home.
